CMS - Health Care
Client: Penobscot Bay Health Care
Project: Content Administration Web Application
Challenge:
Penobscot Bay Healthcare (PBHC) was in need of a website that unified the organizational branches of PBHC into one collective online presence, giving them a vehicle to support their common service-oriented goal, while highlighting each branch's individual specialty areas for distinct client groups.
Penobscot Bay Media's Solution:
Penobscot Bay Media was tasked by PBHC to develop such a website with the base technology for the effort being Microsoft's .NET platform and MSSQL server, providing PBHC with a scalable architecture for future growth and site traffic. There are currently six entities built, with the sixth one added in July 2007 for the PBHC's Midcoast Mental Health Care branch. The portal boasts a fully manageable backend and allows for content to be posted to the site as HTML or plain text through the content management system. For this project, Penobscot Bay Media had to comply fully with HIPAA guidelines for purposes of security in handling new patient information. This was accomplished with secure authenticated login access to the site's data for authorized users only.
The framework Penobscot Bay Media developed for PBHC's portal is user friendly and is built to allow their webmaster to organize content for the current needs of the audience. Penobscot Bay Media populated the initial data and is keeping the site current on a regular basis, as seen in the recent feature posted to highlight pandemic flu information. Penobscot Bay Media performed an exhaustive quality assurance test when the portal was first released to ensure a level of excellence for the product.
